The modern reboot of Marvel, Ultimate Marvel, may have had its fair share of problems, but Ultimate Spider-Man's run was incredibly consistent from beginning to end.

Sadly, this made the series more tragic when we saw the Wall-crawler bow out. In the final story arc, Spidey learns the Green Goblin has broken out of prison and is leading the Sinister Six directly to Aunt May's house. As Peter Parker makes his way home, he's accidentally shot by the Punisher, leaving him badly injured.

While facing the Six, Spider-Man could barely stay conscious, forcing May and Mary Jane Watson to step in and help. Although they managed to defeat most of the supervillains, the Green Goblin was left standing, easily deflecting all of his arch-nemesis' attacks.

Knowing he couldn't beat the Goblin with his fists, Spidey crushed him to death with a truck. However, the impact caused the vehicle to explode, leaving Spider-Man gravely wounded. As MJ and May cradled Peter's body, he told him that he could finally forgive himself for failing to save Uncle Ben. Smiling one last time, Peter closes his eyes and died.
