2. Literally Eat Him

Marvel Zombies was a neat little thing that dominated the Marvel landscape for much of 2006, with Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman handling writing duties for an alternate world where all of Earth's Mightiest Heroes were consumed by a flesh-eating virus, which then turned them into zombified versions of their former selves.

So when the Silver Surfer arrived, telling them that the world was due to be eaten by Galactus, the poor guy was ripped to shreds. When Galactus eventually showed up, he was greeted with the same response, and was eaten alive by the likes of Spider-Man, Giant Man, Wolverine and the Hulk. It was a very gruesome death, and again, one only possible in the bonkers reality of a zombified Marvel Universe, but hey, it's a death nonetheless.

It could also be considered ironic, really. Guy travels halfway across the galaxy, famed for his appetite, and - in a cruel twist of fate - ends up on the menu.

And who says zombie stories can't be clever?
