10 Disastrous Superhero Redesigns

2. Feral Wolverine

Logan€™s been going through a tough time of it at the minute, but that€™s nothing compared to the trials and tribulations he had to put up with throughout the nineties (seriously, spot the pattern in these disastrous redesigns, why don€™t you).

During the Fatal Attractions storyline that was supposed to return Magneto to his status as the X-Men€™s most fierce nemesis - as well as pushing his rival, Professor X, further than he ever has before to stop him - Wolverine came up against the master of magnetism and tried to gut him with his claws, only for the villain to remove the adamantium from Logan€™s skeleton, nearly killing him. Xavier unleashed a psychic attack that did much the same to Magneto, but the damage was already done to Wolverine.

Besides causing him intense psychological and physical pain, ripping the metal from his bones also turned him "feral": which meant that, along with losing much of the control and inhibitions he€™d spent years trying to crack, he also had bone claws, tore up his classic yellow-and-blue costume so he could wear a face mask like one of the ninja turtles, and his nose disappeared. That€™s not just weird art, he had no nose. How did he smell? Probably as well as he looked.
