10 Embarrassing Supervillains Marvel Wants You To Forget

6. The Living Eraser

The Matador
Marvel Comics

There are few characters whose name is as on-the-nose as The Living Eraser. This Silver Age threat made his first appearance back in Tales to Astonish #49. He came from another dimension intent on capturing nuclear physicists in our reality so he could take them back to his own and learn the secrets of the atom!

He comes from a reality called Dimension Z and was sent by the Supremor of that realm, which had been spying on Earth for centuries.

As his name implies, he had the ability to erase people from existence, though they didn't die - they just transported from Earth-616 to Dimension Z. The character captured Henry Pym who took the Wasp along for the ride, but he was ultimately defeated.

He ended up taking over his reality and made another attempt at capturing the Earth's nuclear arsenal, but was thwarted by Morbius and the Thing. This is a character who had a relatively interesting superpower, but was presented in a really cheesy way. He could be brought back and updated, but for now, Marvel would prefer to keep him in the past.
