10 Embarrassing Supervillains Marvel Wants You To Forget

4. Paste-Pot Pete

The Matador
Marvel Comics

Back in the Silver Age, Peter Petruski was a villain operating under the name, Paste-Pot Pete. He started out as an enemy of the Human Torch and would eventually go on to become the supervillain Trapster, but for this list, his time as Paste-Pot Pete is worthy of mention.

His main weapon is a gun that fired glue to trap his enemies, which isn't the most threatening play against someone who can fly and shoot fireballs, but this was back in the early sixties and these characters were still being developed.

He was a technical genius who created various glues and lubricants he used to do things like walk up walls. He even found a way to dissolve powerful adhesives created by other criminals and made a dust, which rendered Mr. Fantastic's unstable molecules inert.

Pete has been around in one form or another since 1963, but he isn't the greatest character the House of Ideas ever conjured. He was rebranded as The Trapster in Fantastic Four #38, which saw some innovations and improvements leaving the Paste-Pot Pete version in the past where it belonged.
