10 Essential Suicide Squad Stories

7. Justice League Vs Suicide Squad (2016-2017)

Suicide Squad Bad Blood
DC Comics

Justice League Vs Suicide Squad is one of the first crossover events as part of DC's Rebirth, written by Joshua Williamson with art by Jason Fabok, and starts DC's initiative off with a bang.

The comic is an exceptional jump on point for someone looking for a fun popcorn blockbuster event.

After the Justice League discovers the existence of Task Force X, the League are disgusted at Waller's actions and try to shut down the Suicide Squad. It's not long before the two teams come to blows before the surprise intervention of Maxwell Lord forces both teams to unite and overcome the new threat.

Against the overwhelming might of the Justice League, the movie inspired Suicide Squad appears outmatched. However, Williamson balances both teams' strengths and weaknesses for an unpredictable battle. Forcing enemies like Batman and Deadshot and the Flash and Boomerang to put their differences aside also proves to be an inspired and fun choice.
