10 Most Expensive Comic Books Ever Sold

3. Detective Comics #27

Sold for: $1,075,000.00CGC: 8.0 Okay, so this actually is the first appearance of the Dark Knight, which is why it broke the million dollar mark. A million dollars for a comic book? Yes, but what a comic book! After all, this was the issue that not only brought the world the night-time pursuits of billionaire playboy Bruce Wayne, but also his pal Commissioner Gordon, and Gotham City itself. And a bunch of back-up stories that nobody cares about with characters who probably won't be making an appearance in Batman vs Superman. In fact, apart from those forgotten supporting characters, Detective Comics #27 introduced Batman to the world as only the second superhero, as they're understood nowadays (ie underwear perverts). There's plenty of copies of this issue floating around, but none in this good condition, and so not going for a ridonkulous amount of cash.
