8. Drax - CM Punk

Umbrella Academy Gerard Way
Marvel Comics

WWE and UFC superstar, Philip "CM Punk" Brooks, is a massive Marvel fanboy. I mean, he used to roar The Thing's catchphrase, "It's clobberin' time!" during his wrestling entrance so I'm sure no one's surprised.

In 2015, he wrote for Marvel for the first time with his story, Young Thor, which was published as part of Thor: Annual. The story has Mephisto challenge the god of thunder to a drinking contest. Thor manages to drink the devil under the table and celebrates by trying to lift Mjolnir but fails because he's too drunk.

Marvel were happy with Punk's work and hired him to write a brand-new series revolving around Drax hunting down Thanos. It only ran for eleven issues but it's pretty impressive that the mixed martial artist got to right every issue of a series revolving around one of Marvel's most popular superheroes.

The last thing he wrote for Marvel was a one-shot of Master of Kung Fu in 2017 but he's still desperate to pen a Punisher story so it's a safe bet that Punk will be working with the company again in the future.
