10 Famous Comic Panels Recreated For Real

The Watchmen movie recreates a fair amount of the most recognisable imagery; the bloodstained smiley face, the prison scenes, and Doctor Manhattan's giant blue dong, just to name a few.

But one of the best - and most accurate - has to be that of the Minutemen photo taken before everything kind of goes wrong. With all the ongoing arcs of the various characters, this is one snapshot in time that stands out amongst all the chaos.

Which is why it felt so right to see it remade it the film. It's by no means a crucial turning point in the plot or moment that needed to be included, but seeing it still feels special somehow - like seeing an old photo of a family member, only the family member is a superhero who is satirising one of Marvel or DC's creations.

While this easily could have been just a homage to that panel, it's instead a direct recreation, right down to the cigar in the Comedian's mouth.
