10 Fantastic Four Comics You Must Read Before You Die
1. Ultimate Fantastic Four
It's a big risk popping anything in the number one spot that isn't either Lee or Kirby related but the reason that the Ultimate Fantastic Four takes the coveted top spot is quite simple.
Throughout its five-year run, it never once delivered a bad story.
A completely wonderful re-telling of the tried and tested origin of Reed, Johnny, Sue, and Ben, Ultimate FF would see different takes on all the normal heroes and villains that pollute that alternative versions earth and beyond.
All this would culminate in Reed Richards going mad and becoming The Maker after the events of Ultimatum, when Magneto causes massive devastation around the globe and most of the Ultimate heroes are killed off.
He would re-imagine himself as supervillain with designs on the Marvel multiverse, and prove once and for all that not only was he the superior of Victor Von Doom, when walking the side of right, he also made a much better bad guy when he put his mind to it.
Evil Reed Richards is one of the greatest villains the Marvelverse has ever seen and it's a crying shame that, when the book ended back in 2009, we've not heard anything from him since.
Over a decade later and it's about time they brought him back from the dead.
