10 Fantastic Four Comics You Must Read Before You Die

8. Solve Everything

FANTASTIC FOUR Alex Ross
Marvel Comics

Tired of being "just a Super-Hero", Reed Richards feels there is more he can do for the world. With the aid of another of his wacky inventions, this one allowing him to see alternative universes, he finds that there are different versions of himself that have formed a council, with the specific ideal to quite literally solve everything wrong on every single planet.

Jonathan Hickman's run on the Fantastic Four is exceptional, and the added artwork of Dale Eaglesham makes it pop in every conceivable way.

Taking a more soap opera style look at Marvel's first family might sound like a turn-off, but its clever use gets deep beneath the skin of characters that are seen as boring and somewhat passé.

The true beauty of this story, and of his whole run, is the fact that Hickman is a genius when it comes to pacing. Never afraid to let his words do the talking, he allows himself time to flesh out every member of the Fantastic Four, including their kids, and they are much better for it.
