There is precisely one thing that is universally considered better than superheroes, and that is small, adorable animals. This is not true for The Indestructible Hulk comic, however, which did the natural – and magical – step of combining these two together, leading to the Hulk being calmed by a strategic military bombardment of cute puppies.

On a comedy level, this works in roughly the same way cute YouTube videos about animals does – only with a hulking mutant murder machine in the place of, say, a particularly grumpy cat. That, and the fact it’s such a ridiculous situation, yet one that works so well – after all, why try and actually bomb the not-so-jolly green giant when it’s far easier to pacify him?

Not only is this a welcome change from various governments doing terrible things to the Hulk, it also makes for maybe the most genuinely wholesome and hilarious comic panel of all time.
