10 Future Versions Of Heroes BETTER Than The Original
7. Future Kitty Pryde
Katherine Pryde was only 13 when she first joined the X-Men in 1980. She is a mutant with phasing powers who eventually gains martial arts skills after being possessed by a demon. Over the years she has taken on many aliases: Kitty, Sprite, Shadowcat, and Star-Lord. The two most famous future versions of Kitty show different ways in which she can become an even better hero.
Days of Future Past is set in the dystopian future of 2013. The story is split between the past and the future, with Kitty Pryde traveling back in time into the body of her younger self in order to try and stop the assassination of a senator (that will kick off the events that lead to their future). The older Katherine is strong, self-sacrificing, and has decades of extra training and experience she is able to harness in the past.
X-Men: The End presents a very different, but equally compelling version of the kind of hero Kitty could be. A widower with three children, she uses her smarts and strength of character to get political. She becomes the mayor of Chicago, and eventually the President of the United States. Kitty might not be in costume, but she is still fighting the good fight.
The original Kitty is a child just learning to be a hero, it's probably not surprising that time allows Kitty to grow into a better version of herself in most future timelines.
