9. Vision
Vision is one of the more unique members of the Avengers, and one who's almost always been in and around the team since his debut in Avengers #57 in 1968. He's one of the few members of the team to have made their debut in their actual comic, so it's only natural that fans consider him to be one of their strongest assets.
Created by Ultron to fight the Avengers, the android soon realises that that he's being manipulated for nefarious purposes. The Avengers explain to Vision that part of his mental makeup is comprised of that of Wonder Man's, and so, deciding that his skills could be better put to use serving good, he joins them.
Few would've imagined that Vision would go on to become such a staple of the team, becoming one of their most recognisable members of the years, but that's exactly what happened. Today, Vision is considered not just one of the greatest Avengers, but one of the greatest Marvel characters ever created.
Of course, there's another character responsible for that perception, and one arguably superior in terms of reputation...
