9. Mister Fear
Several men in Marvel have taken the name Mister Fear, but Larry Cranston is the most terrifying. After synthesising a pheromone, Cranston converted it into a toxin that causes its victims to experience hallucinations and paranoia. Although the DC supervillain, Scarecrow, does the same thing, he's not much of a fighter. Mister Fear, on the other hand, can easily fight three people simultaneously and go toe-to-toe with martial experts like Daredevil.
Cranston doesn't just battle his foes physically but mentally. His fear gas caused Daredevil to pummel innocent civilians to a pulp and compelled the reformed supervillain, Gladiator, to go on a killing spree. Not only that, Cranston infected Matt Murdock's blind wife, Milla Donovan, driving her to muder. Milla's instability caused her to be sent to a psychiatric institution, which led directly to her and Matt getting divorced.
What makes Mister Fear so scary is his drive. He doesn't want power or money - He just wants to destroy Daredevil's life. When the Man Without Fear defeated Cranston in battle, the skull-masked mastermind admitted he didn't care since he already destroyed the hero's life. After being sent to jail, the prisoners applauded Cranston, calling him The Man Who Broke Daredevil.
