10 Harmless Comic Book Heroes Who Became Total Badasses
7. Jubilee
Thanks to her youth and relatively comfortable upbringing - Jubilee has always been one of the more "normal", X-Men characters.
Not wanting to embrace her mutant heritage meant Jubilee was typically seen as one of the weaker members of the X-Men. She often held herself back from testing out the full limits of her powers out of fear of injuring someone with them. These fears would prove well-founded during Jubilee's time training with Generation X.
Whilst with the team, Emma Frost assessed Jubilee's gifts and made a shocking discovery - Jubilee has the power to detonate matter at a subatomic level, the same blast capability as that of a nuclear bomb. Emma identified Jubilee as a potentially limitless source of untapped energy and one of the most powerful mutants she had ever encountered.
Suddenly those fireworks coming out of her hands look a hell of a lot more terrifying.
Jubilee was one of many mutants who ended up losing their powers in the aftermath of M-Day. After being bitten by a vampire, she was forced to drink the regenerative blood of Wolverine to retain her humanity - which is all kinds of awesome. Eventually, Jubilee regained her powers after being cured of vampirism by the Phoenix-Force and even adopted a little girl to raise along the way.
It is fair to say anyone should think twice before they try messing with that kid.
