The original Civil War storyline has been a huge debate topic among the comic-book community.

Team Cap vs Team Iron Man became one of the most divisive talking points mainly due to how well both sides were written. The conflict between the two initially broke out following a publicly broadcast supervillain attack that wiped out a school. This called for the government to enforce all super-powered citizens to register themselves and essentially work for them.

Iron Man was all for everyone signing over to the government, as he believed this would stop further horrific events from happening, while Captain America was all about the freedom of being a hero.

The arguments escalated to the point where there were several casualties on both sides, with a final battle erupting in the middle of a city. Just as Captain America is about to deal the final blow to Iron Man, he is stopped by a crowd of regular onlookers. When asked why they stopped him, they urge Cap to look around at all of the destruction they have caused.

Surrounded by debris and destroyed buildings, Captain America decides enough is enough and turns himself in to the authorities.
