10 Heartbreaking Moments Comic Book Characters Realised THEY Were The Villain
6. Negan - The Walking Dead
Everyone's favourite foul-mouthed villain, Negan was by far one of the Walking Dead's finest antagonists.
Negan made his debut by smashing the brains out of poor old Glenn after an uncomfortably long game of eeny, meeny, miny, moe.
Following the horrifying encounter, Negan persisted to assert his dominance over the remaining groups of survivors in the local area. He was feared by all, with Rick and the gang swiftly beginning to realise why, as the leather-jacket clad man was revealed to be a ruthless dictator that gave harsh punishments to even his own people. This would naturally clash against Rick's desire to protect his team, and lead to a war between the two factions.
This said, there had been some signs that Negan was in a way redeemable somewhere deep, deep, deep down. He executed one of his own men on the spot for attempting to rape Mishonne. He even let Carl live after the boy had gunned down a group of his men, and encouraged him to own his scars.
During the final confrontation, Rick tried his best to convince Negan that there was a better way and that by working together the communities could all thrive. And the talk, surprisingly, worked - Negan stopped, assessed what Rick was saying, and began to agree with his points.
Right up until Rick tried to slash his throat, that is. Who knows what Negan may have done if Rick hadn't have lunged for him.
