10 Heartwarming DC Comics Moments That Made Fans Cry
3. The Superman Suicide Comic
Much of the saddest parts of Superman's collective comic history involve him being a surreal character who deals with all too real problems. As such, it should come as no huge surprise that one of the simultaneously most heartbreaking and heartwarming moments comes from Superman consoling a woman who is about to commit suicide.
While there are actually two comics that revolve around this premise, the one found in Superman: Grounded feels all the more heartwarming because Superman doesn't physically stop her or hold her like he does in the other one. Instead of using his powers to 'save' her, Superman waits and talks with her all night, spending from dusk until dawn trying to help someone clearly in need.
As a man who can shoot laser beams from his eyes, it's often easy to forget that one of the most likeable things about the Man of Steel actually has nothing to do with his powers. It's that - despite being able to level a city in the time some of us could lock our front door - he cares about every single human, regardless of who they are.
