10 Human Comic Book Characters With Better Prep Skills Than Batman

9. Doctor Doom (Marvel Comics)

10 Doom Cropped1 Doctor Doom, as a villain, has a little bit of everything - his armoured suit gives him superpowers such as incredible durability and enhanced strength, as well as a series of high-tech in-built gadgets for a variety of purposes, he is a skilled hand-to-hand combatant, his technological genius is second-to-none and he's a skilled sorcerer to boot. All things considered, this makes him an absolute beast when it comes to preparatory work. Doom's preparation has allowed him to do things that only Reed Richards can match or surpass, as far as humans are concerned in comic books, and these are things that affect the environment on a universal level in some cases. His plans have enabled him to siphon the power from heroes as powerful as the Silver Surfer and abstract cosmic entities as powerful as the nigh-omnipotent Beyonder and the planet-devouring Galactus. Indeed, Doom has achieved universal power through his schemes and given it up willingly because he got bored. His armour itself is an embodiment of the kind of things he is capable of making with prep. It is durable enough to withstand hits from the likes of Hulk, Sentry, Thor and the Thing, as well as enabling him to survive in the harsh environment of the Beyonder's realm - an environment in which the energies knocked Galactus out for a longer period of time than Doom was knocked out for. His magic knowledge enables him to prepare spells such as the formidable Crimson Bands of Cyttorak - a spell which entangles the target in magical restraints strong enough to hold the likes of Hulk and Iron Man indefinitely. Indeed, such is his genius that he has, in recent years, built in an auto-cast facility in to his armour that allows spells to happen without him even having to speak. He also has an army of Doombots that are, in themselves, formidable fighters and almost impossible to differentiate from the real Doctor Doom, making decoys a real possibility in his schemes. Doom is always one step ahead of his opponents - apart from Reed Richards, which is nothing to be ashamed of (not that Doom sees it that way).
