10 Idiotic Mistakes That Almost Ruined Spider-Man
3. Sins Remembered
The only thing worse than giving a character a maligned story? Giving that maligned story a follow-up.
While not inherently horrific as Sins Past, Sins Remembered has one element that leaves a similar bad taste in the mouth as its predecessor: Gwen Stacy and Norman Osborn's daughter tries to get with Peter.
Through some comic book logic nonsense, the genetic enhancements that Osborn made to himself caused his offspring to age rapidly, meaning that both twins are fully-grown adults by the time the Sins Past arc takes place. Both twins are tricked into thinking Spider-Man killed their mother and try to avenge her. Peter convinces one child, Sarah, of the truth, but fails to do the same for her brother, Gabriel.
The story ends with Gabriel defeated and Stacy off living a presumably normal life. Sins Remembered sees Peter check up on Sarah in Paris, do some crimefighting, and has her fall for him. There's the clichéd moment of Sarah attempting to kiss Peter as MJ walks in and everything.
It's likely best to follow Marvel's example and forget either of these stories ever happened.
