10 Important Life Lessons Comic Books Teach Us (In Elaborate Ways)

8. Treat Everyone As Your Equal

No matter how important, rich and/or powerful you are, you should always treat people as you wish to be treated and as your equal. Take Superman, for example. His powers make him a relative god in comparison to 99% of the population of DC Earth, and he could quite easily use that to his advantage to live a life of luxury with money to burn and servants doing everything he asks - but he doesn't. He takes on an alter-ego and lives a relatively normal life, earning his keep in the same manner as the powerless humans he shares the world with. Also, whilst operating under his Superman moniker, he values the contribution of infinitely less powerful characters like Batman and Green Arrow, treating them as his equals with the respect their heroics deserve. If everyone in the real world who sees themselves as above everyone else would use these values, the world would be a much better place.
