1. Tarantula Rapes Nightwing - Nightwing #93-95 (2004)
While Nightwing was patrolling Bludhaven, he encountered a crimefighter called Tarantula. Because she was reckless, Nightwing agreed to adopt her as his protege.
Despite having feelings for one another, Nightwing refused to act on them out of professional courtesy. Sadly, Tarantula did more than act on them.
In Nightwing #93, Tarantula shot Blockbuster dead after he beat the crap out of Nightwing. The former Robin was so traumatised and injured after brawling with the brutish supervillain, he collapsed to the ground. Tarantula then used this opportunity to rape her mentor even though he repeatedly begged her to stop.
What's more bizarre though is that Nightwing didn't mention being sexually assaulted for the rest of the issue. Instead, he focused on how horrified he was that Tarantula took a life.
But two issues later, Nightwing has become so rattled after being violated by the incident, that when Tarantula asked him to marry her, he was too scared to turn her down. Luckily, he came to his senses just before signing the marriage licence and walked away.
