One of the more unusual members of the Bat-family (and that's saying something, given the existence of Batdog and Harold, the weird dude who used to hang around in the Batcave fixing the Dark Knight's vehicles) Batcow was picked up by then-Robin Damian Wayne, rescued from a slaughterhouse during a raid on villainous organisation Leviathan. Not only did Robin adopt Batcow for a time, but the experience also turned the kid into a vegetarian. When Robin was killed battling an adult clone of himself, it was to Batcow Batman turned in his grief (during a period spent running over lampposts and punching criminals a little too hard), giving the cow a quick cuddle before turning him loose onto the world. Batcow recieved his own one shot spin-off story and is set to appear in a Lego Batman game too.
