10 Insane Alternate Versions Of Captain America You Won't Believe Exist

6. Covenant Of The Shield

We shift focus to another reality now, with this one having also elected to change the good Captain's name.

In Avataars: Covenant of the Shield, a book that created a medieval Marvel of sorts, Steve Rogers' alias is Captain Avalon, who belongs to a group known as the Champions of the Realm. They're basically this world's version of the Avengers, and Avalon - who goes by the name of St'vaan in this reality - is their leader.

Avalon recently made an appearance in the sequel to Lego: Marvel Superheroes, but under a somewhat different context. In the actual comic, St'vaan's son is kidnapped by the villainous Dreadlord (Eurth's version of Baron Zemo), which prompts a re-assembling of their Avengers. The interesting thing to note here is that this was actually set in Earth-616 - just in a different planet created by the Living Tribunal and his fellow cosmic entities.

Needless to say, the series didn't last long. The design for Avalon is still cool though, and the fact he's been revisited in different media is nice too.
