If you're trying to get into Deadpool, one of the most interesting series you can read about our blessed lunatic is Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe, which details Wade Wilson having a full breakdown and murdering every hero, villain and iconic character you could name.

Naturally, this doesn't take place in the main Marvel universe, so it's easy to read the series as something that's totally removed from it and thus will never effect it. But Deadpool is simply too meta to let this happen - especially since the success the series saw - and thus this twisted version of the character managed to make his way into the canon world.
