10 Insane Alternative Versions Of Batman You Won't Believe

6. French Nobleman

Flashpoint Batman Thomas Wayne
DC Comics

Je suis Batman.

In this one issue interpretation, Batman: Reign of Terror tells the story of nobleman Bruce Wayne at the height on the French revolution. The basis of the story is a meld of both the Batman mythos and the 1905 novel ‘Scarlet Pimpernel.’

Captain Bruce Wayne was part of the government revolution by day but became the Bat-Man by night protecting the innocent and rescuing aristocrats from the massacres and guillotines. As a masked defender of the innocent, he was battling the very revolution he defended as Bruce. As the Chevalier Noir (French for Dark Knight, which just sounds really cool) he faced off against the war-scarred political mastermind Herve Deinte.
