10 Insane Alternative Versions Of Batman You Won't Believe

4. Kirk Langstrom

Flashpoint Batman Thomas Wayne
Warner Bros.

Batman fans will know the name Kirk Langstrom but possibly more so for his other name ‘Man-Bat.’ Langstrom. In normal continuity Langstrom suffers from the early stages of deafness and so develops a serum through bat extract to cure himself however the formula instead mutates him into a giant animalistic bat that terrorises Gotham City. However, in Bruce Timm’s ‘Justice League: Gods and Monsters’ series, Kirk’s serum transformed him into a pseudo-vampire.

In this universe Kirk Langstrom was a brilliant scientist in college but suffered from Lymphoma, a cancerous disease that attacks the blood cells. Kirk believed the anticoagulant properties of the saliva of a vampire bat could save him and with the help of his friend’s nanotech he created a serum. Unfortunately, while it did cure him from the cancer, it spliced his DNA, causing him to grow fangs and require blood to survive.

The mutation also granted Kirk with super-strength, agility, durability and flight (which is nice). After Superman finds him wandering the streets, snacking on rats, he helps Kirk rebuild his life as he becomes Batman and joins this world's ultra-violent Justice League. Batman fought the dregs and evil forces of the world, killing them and draining them of their blood.

And in the Justice League: Gods and Monsters animated film, Batman is voiced by Michael C. Hall, so he has the second sexiest Batman voice of all time (next to Kevin Conroy’s of course).
