4. Batman Versus Predator III

It’s unclear what production team sat down and green lighted not only a Batman/Predator crossover, but a whole three.

Especially because, while Alien does the logical thing of having the conflict occur in a place where our brain doesn’t immediately notice how weird two particular characters interacting is, Batman versus Predator III takes places within Gotham’s streets, where the Predator somehow manages to stand out in a city where Condiment Man never really felt out of place.

The worst part of the whole thing is that the comic is clever in its handling of both Batman and Predator canon – Mr. Freeze escapes capture by not possessing a heat signature that the creature uses to track prey, for example – but then completely ignores it in others, like the Predators attacking those who wouldn’t be considered honourable targets, or using human-made guns despite the fact their own are significantly more effective.

There is the rough implication that there is a sort of Batman and Robin equivalent in the Predators, however, and if that doesn’t get its own spinoff at some point, DC if not the world will have missed out.
