10 Insultingly Dumb Superman Comic Storylines

Beware of the Bug-Belle might be the weirdest Superman story ever written. After Lois Lane ruins her clothes, she is forced to wear Lana Lang's Insect suit. Lana obtained this outfit after she saved an alien from a log. (Trust me, it gets stupider.) This outfit comes with a bio-genetic ring, which allows the wearer to change into any creature with a jointed exoskeleton (which is weirdly specific).

Lois uses the ring to become a superheroine called Insect Queen. Throughout her adventures, she turns into a dragonfly, a scorpion, a hawk-moth, and a water beetle.

Since the ring can gives her a tough endoskeleton, Lois believes she won't need Superman to save her anymore and they can finally get married. This is assuming her husband-to-be will have no problem with his wife being an overgrown bug.

A criminal called Velvet steals the ring and uses it to turn into a spider. After she ensnares Superman in a cobweb, Lois and Lana use the ring to turn into a mosquito and centipede respectively and fight Velvet. It feels like the writers were intentionally trying to devise the craziest story possible... and they succeeded.
