10 Joker Fates Worse Than Death

In an attempt to drive Commissioner Gordon over the edge and down to his level, the Joker shot and crippled Barbara Gordon, secretly Batgirl, and took nude pictures of her while she bled from her wounds. After she recovered, Barbara became the computer wizard and information broker to the superhero community known as Oracle.

While the Calculator, Gizmo, and a group of lower-level villains engaged the Birds of Prey elsewhere in Platinum Flats, the Joker invaded the Bird's base of operations specifically looking for Barbara. Joker is surprised to find Barbara ready for him. They begin to fight and each gets in solid blows when Barbara smashes her Escrima stick directly in his mouth, shattering his teeth. Batgirl has gotten her revenge against the Clown Prince. She has taken something important to the Joker, his smile.

Only the timely teleportation of Misfit and the promise that “six pissed off heroes” are right behind her, kept the Joker from going down the stairs he has just thrown Barbara down and finished her off. And she knew that he got his smile fixed. However, he knew that it will never be his original smile and who took it from him.
