10 Little Known Superheroes That Would Make DC Millions On Film

3. The Spectre

The Spectre is basically the OG Ghost Rider, if you think about it.

When police detective Jim Corrigan is murdered on his way to a rendezvous with his fiancee, he is denied the chance to ascend to heaven and is instead given the opportunity to take his revenge as the Lord's fist, The Spectre. As the spirit of vengeance, Corrigan would bide his time by dispatching evil-doers in remarkably inventive and indeed graphic ways, before later being replaced by Hal Jordan (yes, the Green Lantern), and after that, GCPD cop Crispus Allen.

Both the Allen and Corrigan interpretations of the character should be rightly lined up to play a role in DC's burgeoning attempts to mount a challenge to Marvel's onscreen authority, especially if they're attempting to fill the gap left behind by Blade and Ghost Rider. Plus, he's another hero that necessitates an R-rating, so if DC are willing to explore that route, then he's the prime candidate to do so.
