10 Little-Known Supervillains That Could Make DC Millions

4. Deacon Blackfire

Vandal Savage DC Comics
DC Comics

Deacon Blackfire is another Batman villain, although like Pyg he doesn’t have the sort of history with the Caped Crusader which would make the pair inseparable. He’s a cult leader, not immortal though said to be over 100 years old, who is able to take control of the masses via sheer manipulation.

His only appearance outside of the comics (where he hasn’t been fully utilised either) was in Batman: Arkham Knight, in a one off scene where he kidnaps Jack Ryder. It feels a little rushed, and a proper DCEU appearance could help flesh him out.

The whole religious cult leader angle might be played out by now, but there’s no reason why some slight reinvention couldn’t see Blackfire gain new relevance. A charismatic leader whose selfish ambitions are disguised by a loyal and possibly brainwashed band of followers? Sounds like a modern politician.
