10 Little Known Supervillains That Could Make Marvel Millions
6. Typhoid Mary
The best villains are often the ones who did not necessarily choose the path of evil, but were forced to do so by society. Mary Walker’s story is one of the most heartbreaking Marvel has ever written. As a very young child she was a victim of molestation at the hands of her father, in her crib.
All the suffering and trauma eventually led to the emergence of a second alter ego. And this persona was able to tap into her latent mutant powers. As Mary’s symptoms and outbursts grew worse, she ended up in a mental institution.
It was here that her super-powered persona was dubbed, “Typhoid”. Typhoid later escapes the institution, starting a new life. When she was herself, Mary took up a career as an actor. Although it was to be short lived, presumably because casting agents are hard to convince when you turn into powerful mutant psychopath midway through an audition.
Subsequently, she found work as a prostitute and it was at a brothel where her paths crossed with future arch nemesis Daredevil. It remains to be seen when Matt Murdock reappears in the MCU, but once he does - or if anyone else needs a trauma-driven mutant powerhouse to contend with - Typhoid Mary would be the perfect inclusion to their rogues gallery.
