Grappler Baki, or as it's known in the West, Baki the Grappler, is a manga series written and illustrated by Keisuke Itagaki. The series began in October 1991, and as of mid-2020, it continues to push out chapters every week via Weekly Shōnen Champion (Raijin Comics in the West).

Since first being published, Grappler Baki has published an impressive 1,203 chapters, which have been compiled into 137 tankōbon volumes. The series is broken up into five different series, all connected to one another, and published successively.

Grappler Baki ended with 42 volumes and was immediately followed by Baki, which ran for 31. The third series was called Baki Hanma, and it consisted of 37 volumes. Following this was Baki-Dou's 22 volumes, and finally, Baki Dou continues the series with five volumes as of July 2020.

In 1994, a 45-minute OVA was released, and it was followed in 2001 with two 24-episode anime series for a grand total of 48 episodes. Grappler Baki has also made the jump into the world of video games with Baki Saikyou Retsuden/Fighting Fury, which was released in Japan in 2000 on the PlayStation 2.
