10 Marvel Characters Most Likely To Be Killed Off In Civil War II

4. Sam Wilson

Despite Marvel confirming that Sam Wilson will continue to serve as Captain America following the return of Steve Rogers, it's pretty obvious that there's only room for one of them in the Marvel Universe. That certainly proved to be the case when Bucky stayed on as a Captain America anyway, and Marvel actually "killed" him in order to make the real deal's return as the one to wield the shield an even bigger deal during Fear Itself. While initial promo art for the series depicted Sam coming to blows with Iron Man, that was clearly misdirection, and I don't expect him to play a very big role here at all. We didn't know about Steve's return as Cap when Civil War II was announced, so the death of his best friend spurring him on to get involved with this conflict makes perfect sense and shakes up his status quo and supporting cast in a big way in his own series. It would be a shame to lose this character, especially as his run as Captain America has been well-received. However, death is far from permanent in the Marvel Universe, so he'd no doubt return at some point!
