10 Marvel Characters Who Became Ghost Rider

3. Danny Ketch

Cosmic Ghost Rider Frank Castle
Marvel

Daniel "Danny" Ketch was the third person in the Marvel Universe to host the Spirit of Vengeance. He first appeared back in Ghost Rider, Volume 3, #1 in 1990 as a sort of revamp of the character.

Danny was just a regular guy living his life in Brooklyn, New York when he and his sister were attacked by gangsters. His sister, Barbara, was seriously injured by Deathwatch and eventually slipped into a coma, but Danny was able to escape.

He found himself in a junkyard where he came face-to-face with a motorcycle bearing a strange and mystical sigil. After touching the sigil, he was instantly transformed into the Ghost Rider! This version of the character looked much like the older one but had some modern tweaks to bring him into the '90s.

Ketch's Ghost Rider was believed to be the spirit of Zarathos, a demon who devoured souls and had previously been the demon bonded to Johnny Blaze. Ghost Rider insisted it wasn't true, but Mephisto wholeheartedly believed Ketch was bound to a reborn Zarathos.
