10 Marvel Heroes GUARANTEED To Join The MCU
5. Ghost Rider
Ghost Rider finds himself in a peculiar place. He's somewhere between A-list and B-list. He doesn't have quite the same pop culture clout as Spider-Man or Wolverine, but he's not as obscure as pre-MCU Captain America and Thor. He's a famous character in the world of comics, but his cinematic outings have been, well... lackluster.
Audiences were assaulted by two Nicolas Cage Ghost Rider films. The Robbie Reyes version of the character on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. got a warmer reception, and was actually set to be adapted as its own Hulu series (which was ultimately axed). An unnamed Johnny Blaze briefly appeared in his Ghost Rider form during a flashback on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., as well.
There have been rumors swirling for awhile that the Spirit of Vengeance is inbound for the MCU. We're already getting Blade and Moon Knight, and current rumors suggest that he will appear in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Hopefully the MCU can do him justice in a way that Sony never could. He's a badass character, and easily one of the most visually distinctive heroes in all of Marvel Comics. All he needs is a good film to elevate him to the heights he deserves.
