10 Marvel Heroes Who Underwent RADICAL Transformations
3. Jane Foster: Valkyrie
Much like Thor, Jason Aaron's eight-year run had a massive impact on Jane Foster. She suffered from breast cancer, worked on the Congress of the Worlds, and become Thor. She had more recently than she has in a long time and it didn't stop there.
After fighting alongside the Asgardians and the various heroes to push back Malekith and his forces during the 'War of the Realms' storyline, she was chosen by Brunnhilde to pick up the Valkyrie mantle and ferry all of the fallen warriors to Valhalla, as all of the Valkyries had died during the War of the Realms. With the remaining fragments from the ultimate universe hammer bonded to her wrist, she accepted the role and used the power to allow the warrior's souls to pass on before she attempts to become a hero within her own right.
Within her own series written by Jason Aaron and Al Ewing, battles Bullseye for Dragonfang, Brunnhilde's sword; takes Heimdall on a journey through various afterlives and with the help of other medical heroes she saves Death from being destroyed.
Jane's time as Valkyrie has been brief but has made an impact on Marvel's cosmology. Her future is a bright one with many adventures to come.
