10 X-Men Who Looks Like Monsters

1. Beak

Puberty is hard enough as it is without going through the awkward phase of discovering you're a mutant. It could be worse, though: you could find your appearance become increasingly more bird-like with time. Boy, would that suck! Well, that's exactly what happened to Barnell Bohusk. As the hormones hit, Barnell's mutation manifested and he began developing talons on his hands and feet, double-jointed knees, bulbous eyes, and an actual beak! Hence the name, you see. As time wore on and Barnell aged, he began developing feathers all over his body and discovered he had heightened agility, increased physical resiliency, and hollow bones (he was also able to glide for a limited time but hadn't mastered self-contained flight). When the events of House of M took place, Barnell - as well as wife Angel Salvadore and five out of their six hybrid bird/fly children - was depowered, losing his hideous birdlike appearance. Continuing his career as a crime-fighter after being depowered, Barnell joined the New Warriors, shedding the codename Beak and taking on the name Blackwing and a specially-engineered powersuit) alongside wife Angel, who took on the name Tempest. In the X-Men series Here Comes Tomorrow, Barnell and Angel's grandson - Tito Bohusk, Jr - took on his grandfather's original name and looked like a humanoid eagle. Still, at least his grandpappy can leave the house now! Did we miss any inhuman-looking mutants that should have made our top ten? Let us know in the comments!
