Santo Vaccarro, on the surface, looks to be a gray version of The Thing from the Fantastic Four - but to dismiss him as simply a granite copy of Ben Grimm would be unfair to the character and his amazing mutation. Comprised of inorganic granite, Santo is covered from head-to-toe, giving the appearance of being a living, breathing rock monster. Not only is Santo - codenamed, unsurprisingly, Rockslide - in possession of superhuman strength and durability, but he can also shoot parts of his body off as projectiles. Even more impressively, he can detonate his entire body and rebuild himself from any surrounding rock! When he did so in Limbo, because of the terrain of the dimension, Santo was invulnerable to magic and sorcery for a brief time. It's been theorized that Santo may be a non-physical sentient, which would explain his ability to continuously rebuild himself after his body has been completely obliterated. Another interesting tidbit is that Santo, who has arrived naked to do battle (as opposed to his earlier uniformed appearances as part of Emma Frost's New Hellions) also lacks genitals. Which is pretty much the worst side effect of any mutation.
