10 Massively Underrated Marvel Villains

8. The Hood

Spider Man Spot
Marvel Comics

The Hood is something very rare in comics, a completely new character who has actually managed to stick around over the years.

Parker Robbins was a small time criminal (or "hood" if you see where this is going) who killed a demon and stole its magic cloak and boots. The cloak allowed him to stay invisible as long as he held his breath and the boots allowed him to walk on air.

The Hood started off just using his powers for robberies to help his ill mother and pregnant girlfriend. As he gained more magical power though, he set his sights higher. While the Marvel herpes were all wrapped up in the first Civil War, he organised an army of supervillains into his own personal gang and started trying to become the most powerful crime lord in the world

What makes the Hood interesting is that he's basically the Vito Corleone of Marvel. He's someone who started down a dark path with idealistic goals, but over time became a power hungry egomaniac.

Parker suffered a pretty big fall from grace when he lost his powers, sending him back down to a minor criminal. He tried to make a comeback in the pages of Illuminati and failed, but it would be great to see the Hood rise back through the ranks.
