10 Massively Underrated Marvel Villains
7. The Fury
Alan Moore's work on Captain Britain is well regarded for completely deconstructing the superhero. It also introduced the absolutely terrifying robot murderer known as The Fury.
The Fury was created on the world of Captain Britain's alternate universe counterpart Captain UK. It was built by the supervillain Mad Jim Jaspers to kill all superheroes, which it proceeded to do. The only survivor was Captain UK, who fled to Captain Britain's Earth for help.
Brian and his sidekick Jackdaw then crossed realities to take care of this threat once and for all.
They didn't.
Almost immediately, Jackdaw was ripped in half and Cap was incinerated by an energy blast. Brian was resurrected though and brought back to his home dimension. The Fury sensed that its enemy was alive again and followed him.
Once it arrived in the Marvel Universe, the Fury killed several more of Brian's allies and even that world's version of its creator. It was eventually destroyed by the combined efforts of Captain Britain and Captain UK who damaged it more than it could heal.
The Fury has reappeared a few times since then, even having a child in the pages of Secret Avengers (it's best you don't ask). It hasn't quite managed to live up to its world ending original potential though.
