10 METAL Moments From Dark Nights: Metal

DC is not without its share of mystical elements and metals. As detailed in the title, Dark Knights: Metal, the story deals with all the known metallic elements in DC's mythos like Eighth Metal, Nth Metal, Batmanium, Electrum, Dionesium, and Promethium but like every good story, it adds a wildcard to the mix.

With the earth plunged into the darkness and Barbatos reigning supreme atop the cosmic tuning fork, all hope seemed lost. That is until Hawkman breaks Barbatos' hold over him, effectively restarting the World Forge. This introduces us to the previously unseen element known as "Tenth Metal" or "Element X".

The element is described as the "metal of pure possibility", due to its nature of bringing the will of the wielder to life. It can materialise the user's desires as seen when the trinity of Batman, Wonder Woman and Superman use their subconscious to create suits of Tenth Metal armor to combat the horrors of the dark. Batman then gifts the metal to the other League members, who create similar suits and weaponry.

The metal proves extremely powerful against Barbatos and his army of nightmares, and gives the heroes the firepower they need to defeat the Bat-God, and return the Earth to its rightful place in the Multiverse.
