You don’t become king of a sovereign nation without making your fair share of enemies.

Whether personal or political, T’Challa’s way of operating as ruler of Wakanda has caused him to make enemies, some of which are kings themselves. Although he is usually able to deal with these enemies diplomatically, some rulers have been able to drag Wakanda into an all out war every now and then.

One such ruler was Namor, king of Marvel’s version of the Atlanteans. Namor is widely considered Marvel's first "mutant", with the sub-mariner debuting in 1938. Since then, he has found himself on the side of both good and evil, and has even fought alongside the Defenders, Avengers and X-Men.

In the Marvel crossover event Avenger Vs X-Men, the arrogant sea-king, who had gone rabid due the effects of the Phoenix Force, unleashed a massive tidal wave on Wakanda’s capital city, killing thousands in the process. The Wakandans go to war and level the city of Atlantis in retribution.

Namor’s actions were interpreted as a severe act of terrorism, and several Atlantean generals were put on trial for their crimes. In response, Namor informs Thanos that the Wakandans are hiding his son, causing the Mad Titan to respond in kind, destroying the nation itself.
