10 Mind-Blowing Facts You Didn't Know About Captain America

2. Red Skull Is His Son In The Ultimate Universe

Captain America Facts
Marvel Comics

During the millennium, Marvel created a comic reboot for modern audiences called Ultimate Marvel. When Captain America debuted in The Ultimates, readers knew the inclusion of his nemesis, the Red Skull, was inevitable.

But fans could've never expected that terrorist mastermind would be rewritten as Captain America's own flesh-and-blood. In this version, Cap had a child with his partner, Gail Richards, just before he was frozen in ice for several decades.

When Cap supposedly died during WWII, the American government convinced Gail to give up her baby, saying it wasn't safe with her. In reality, they intended to turn her offspring into a Super-Soldier like his father. After being trained in a facility from birth, it wasn't long before the child surpassed Steve Rogers physically and mentally.

However, the child had a massive inferiority complex, believing he could never live up to Captain America. At the age of 17, he snapped, killing everyone in the complex. Despising how much he resembled Rogers, he sliced his own face off, giving him his iconic look.

After killing JFK (yeah, they gloss over that), Skull disappeared for decades and only returned to modern society after learning of the Cosmic Cube, which he intended to use to reshape reality.
