10 Modern Comic Book Runs Destined To Become Classics
3. Keith Giffen And John Rogers' Blue Beetle
By this point, if you're a DC fan, then you know who Jaime Reyes, The Blue Beetle, is.
DC has been very good about endearing him to fans over the years, perhaps to make up for the poor advertising they always give him when he actually has a comic out. But despite the low cooperation from the higher ups when this series was briefly with us, Keith Giffen and John Rogers still managed to give readers one hell of a great series with this first intro to Jaime Reyes and his universe.
Filled with colorful characters, amazing artwork, great one-shot stories that weave together a larger overarching narrative over time, and as much action as one can stuff into a book like this, Blue Beetle satisfied everyone who read it.
While it didn't last forever, the book lasted a lot longer than you'd think, going continuously for a respectable three years before being cancelled.
