2. G Willow Wilson's Ms. Marvel

G Willow Wilson is one of the greatest comic book writers of our time, so it's no wonder that a series that she had complete creative control over would be some of her best work.

Kamala Khan is proof that Marvel's then recent initiative to create newer, more diverse characters to fill legacy roles was in fact a brilliant move that freed creators up for new ideas with a familiar mantle.

There are plenty of superheroes out there that start out as fanboys or fangirls of other heroes, but Kamala Khan explored it in a much more intimate way that tied a lot more into the core of her character than with previous attempts. Another core feature to her character is her Muslim upbringing, which set her apart from her contemporaries in a big way.

Wilson actually explores Islamic philosophy and how it drives Kamala to become a superhero, and informs the kind of hero she wants to be. What else can actually be said? Everyone who's read this series loves it, and for good reason.
