Recreating the multiverse, redeeming Doctor Doom, and introducing the concept of Battleworlds, the Secret Wars series is built upon altering the main comic universe in ways you'd never expect, which naturally means it changes the world of Marvel a fair bit.

This would be proved profoundly true over the course of the series, as we watched as the multiverse was essentially torn apart. While new universes would be made the end of the series, it's clear that this doesn't equal the status quo being restored, but rather that an entirely new set of universes have instead been made, making it perhaps the most underrated example of a single comic massively changing the universe at large.
