One fact about Bruce Wayne that often goes overlooked is that he may still have severe brain trauma.

In Batman: Hush things start out pretty normally. Batman's rogues gallery is at it again and the Caped Crusader swoops in to save the day. Catwoman shows up to steal what's left of a deal gone wrong, leading Bruce to swiftly chase after her with a bit of light-hearted banter in between.

All pretty standard stuff so far - that is right up until Batman's cable (apparently branded the Batrope) connecting to his grappling hook is severed, causing him to fall multiple stories.

At the bottom, it is shown that he is bleeding quite heavily through the cowl and after being retrieved and brought to Alfred, the loyal butler deems the fracture to Bruce's skull is too serious for his skills.

Bruce is then taken to Thomas Elliot who manages to surgically repair his old childhood friend. Unfortunately, Thomas secretly despises Bruce and wishes to destroy his life and fortune, meaning Thomas could have deliberately done a haphazard job...
